The Compass Mindset: Applied Neuroscience for Venture Navigation

Barcelona Science Park

The Swala Institute

10:00 – 14:00

Forget sticky notes — it’s time to think with a Compass. This hands-on workshop introduces The Compass™, a neuroscience-based venture-building framework designed to replace the outdated Business Model Canvas. Participants will learn how to turn complex health innovation ideas into fundable, credible ventures using the PBPO Framework: Problem → Business → Plan → Opportunity. Learning Outcomes By the end of the session, participants will be able to: 1. Map their venture using The Compass™ framework and its four quadrants. 2. Translate science and technology into strategy — connecting purpose, proof, and payoff. 3. Apply neuroscience principles (attention, empathy, trust, and reward activation) to craft persuasive pitches. 4. Identify investor logic and neural triggers behind successful funding conversations. 5. Walk away with a 4-sentence investor-ready narrative following the PBPO structure.

Lab Therapy is a practical, participatory session designed to address real-life laboratory questions, based on hands-on operational experience.
