EDAISS, the Integrated Data Space for Social and Health Care
What is a data space? Why is it relevant for the health and social care system?
In this webinar, we will learn about EDAISS, the Integrated Social and Health Care Data Space, which aims to improve people’s lives by integrating data from social and health care systems, along with other open data.
We will briefly explore what a data space is, how it works, and its relation to the European Data Strategy and the upcoming European Health Data Space (EHDS). We will present the Catalan ecosystem, the role of the different stakeholders, and the value of promoting a secure, ethical, and data-sharing governance model aimed at improving well-being.
The objectives and scope of the EDAISS project will be explained, along with the expected benefits for health and social care systems, public management, and citizens. Finally, we will showcase its potential with the use case “Climate Emergencies,” which focuses on identifying vulnerable populations during extreme heat events and generating vulnerability maps and indicators to guide strategic, evidence-based decision-making for population protection.
